Where do you spend these long sun-filled days? You’ll find me in the garden. I’m weeding, watering. Starting to harvest. Cheering on slow-ripening tomatoes. My last batch of 2020 Salsa-ly Distant Salsa is almost gone!
There are two places where secrets should never be kept — the kitchen and the garden. So in the spirit of “what happens in the garden, doesn’t stay in the garden,” I want to share how kindness has been a key ingredient for my vegetable patch.
Rainbows often burst on the scene like magical gloom chasers. I’m so grateful for those moments, but it doesn’t mean I have to sit patiently under dark skies and wait. We can each choose to be “the rainbow in someone else’s cloud” as the great Maya Angelou wrote. I hope this letter gives you inspiration to be the ray of sunlight that pops out a rainbow slide for someone in your life.
April is in full swing and the birds and bees are busy tossing little flower petals like confetti around my yard. It’s a wild pollination party! They all make the important work look like fun. I hope this Kindness Roots letter does that for you …
